Kenya road to 1997 violence a repeat to 2012

Kenya road to 1997 violence a repeat to 2012
Before the violence erupted in 1997 after the general election, many things were amiss. Bushes and obstacles were cleared as the road was been carpeted to 1997 violence, which is the same road followed to the 2012 general election. Then, which  is the road?
In 1997 political campaigns, tribalism was the key. Many Kenyans even politicians viewed (even now) some tribes as the one who matter in an election thus ignoring others and thus it’s only some tribes who should have the power (the presidency). Politicians with selfish eyes of power and money preached against other tribes divided the nation in tribal lines and their specific goal in their minds was winning a certain tribe. This is what is happening now bringing conflict between tribes coupled with historical injustices which the TJRC has not solved.
The politicians are going to be release to woe ‘their voters’. Who are their voters? Their tribes. They make sure that they have their whole tribe in their back before going to form alliances with other tribes. Kenya is the only country where tribal politics is the key to success.
With the two ICC politicians (William Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta) going around the country preaching against Raila Odinga, and him as the cause of their tribulations, this is tribal politics bringing hatred, tension and rivalry in these three tribes (kalenjin, kikuyu and the luo) since a politician carries a whole tribe in his/her back. Petrol has being spread and just a little strike of a match box, fire will erupt.
Kenyan police failed in 1997 from being stern to curb tribal campaigns from the politicians and today the also have terribly failed. Knowing all the above mentioned factors, what have the Kenya police done? Nothing. They cannot arrest and go against the will of their employer; the politicians. It is a toothless dog, which only barks but not bites.
The IIEC like its former ECK has showed that it is not independent but dependent. It does not put the interest of the country first but the interest of a few individuals who control it like a puppet. This is the last killer of the nation, Majority of Kenyan now do not have trust with the IIEC like its former ECK.
Kenyan citizens are bitter with this government, having dipped them in a valley of high standard of living with peanuts salaries and high unemployment rates. Employee strikes are a norm to this nation and their cries falls on a deaf ear. High price of unga, sugar, rice, cloths and all basic human necessities being beyond the reach of common mwananchi.
In addition, with the countries uncalculated decision to go to war against the Al-Shabaab, where millions of tax-payers money has been drained as the tax-payers struggle to live each day. Plus, the IIEC is being controlled and instructed by the some few individuals who run the government for them to remain in power against majority Kenyan citizens.
Kenya is heading to a repeat of violence in 2012. All roads are leading to this deep bloody valley.
